About the
Kiwanis of Biscayne Bay Club
Improving the lives of disadvantaged children.
The Biscayne Bay Kiwanis Club (BBKC) is a passionate, all-volunteer service organization based in Downtown Miami. Since 1950, we’ve been dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in some of Miami’s most underserved communities—including Overtown, Allapattah, and Midtown—through education, mentorship, and meaningful service.
Our members—professional men and women from all walks of life—reflect the diversity and energy of the city we serve. Each month, we offer hands-on opportunities to make a difference, from mentoring students to distributing school supplies to organizing enrichment field trips.
Changing Lives
Since 1950
Since 1950, Biscayne Bay Kiwanis has changed lives and brightened the futures of thousands of children by bringing Kiwanis’ programs to our community.
GET INVOLVEDAs one of South Florida’s most respected community service organizations, the Biscayne Bay Kiwanis Club has impacted thousands of lives by bringing Kiwanis’ mission of service to the heart of Miami. We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and thanks to our members covering all administrative costs, every dollar we raise goes directly into supporting our programs and helping those in need.
We’re proud to partner with over a dozen local schools, providing volunteers, educational materials, and support for events like talent shows, field trips, and reading programs. Our members lead classroom presentations on career readiness, civics, etiquette, and life skills. We also provide uniforms, backpacks, and books to help students thrive—and we support school garden and media center projects.
Our Kiwanis incentive programs encourage academic success, including Bring Up Grades (BUG), which recognizes students who show real improvement in their performance, even if they’re not at the top of the class. It’s one of many ways we help kids reach their potential, one step at a time.
Beyond the classroom, we make a lasting impact through educational scholarships—most notably, a full college scholarship awarded annually to a deserving senior at Booker T. Washington High School. Over the past nine years alone, BBKC has awarded more than $300,000 in college scholarships, helping local students access opportunities that can transform their futures.

While our core mission is focused on children, our impact reaches beyond. Our annual Thanksgiving Project provides full holiday meals—plus a week’s worth of groceries—to nearly 200 inner-city families. We also serve meals to the homeless, organize enrichment activities for families in shelters, and provide outings and holiday gifts for disabled adults in our community.
One of our favorite traditions is fulfilling the holiday wish list of every resident at United Community Options (formerly United Cerebral Palsy), located near the University of Miami’s medical campus. Our annual trip to Zoo Miami with the residents is a highlight of the year—for them, and for us.
If you’re looking to give back, grow friendships, and be part of something meaningful, we invite you to join the Biscayne Bay Kiwanis Club. Together, we’re building a better Miami—one child, one family, one community at a time.
